Featuring interactive exhibits for all ages, a knowledgeable docent, café and panoramic views of the Sierra and beyond. This is the central hub of the Explore Mammoth experience, at the very top of the mountain.

During the summer from 10:30AM–3PM, keep an eye out for a U.S. Forest Service Naturalist who can share information on the region's geologic history, flora and fauna, and more.

Enjoy a commanding view of the region and learn about the early pioneers who mined its treasures. Learn about the Sierra Nevada mountain range, glaciation and the amazing middle fork of the San Joaquin River.

Mammoth Museum Outside McCoy Station | Summer Only

Journey back to the 1950s and discover how Dave McCoy’s vision and innovations transformed Mammoth Mountain and the ski industry. Early grooming, avalanche and lift equipment are on display.

Find out why Mammoth’s high alpine weather patterns are a boon to skiers and scientists alike. Discover the critical role Mammoth’s snow pack plays in the California water supply, and learn about ongoing scientific research and the sophisticated instruments stationed on the mountain.

Discover the prodigious volcanic history of Mammoth Mountain and its surrounding area. Learn about the Bishop Tuff “super explosion,” the Long Valley Caldera, Inyo-Mono craters and other geologic marvels.
